i know this is probably the shittiest tutorial out there, (:XD:), but some people asked for a tutorial on how to paint fire, so i made one as best i could.

hope it helps. give me feedback on it if you wish. :aww:
i'm gonna type up some easier steps right here if you get confused by my tutorial (no ftw):

:bulletyellow:HOW TO PAINT FIRE IN PHOTOSHOP:

1. Choose a light shade of blue or whatever color you want from the color palette

2. Paint the fire in the shape you want, like at the bottom or the sides or anywhere and in any shape

3. use the dodge tool, set on highlights, and dodge it up and down the flames, specifically in the middle, making it look more natural, but don't dodge it too much, or it'll be too bright. change the opacity.

4. Then, smudge those flames, not too much opacity with the smudge tool, and just get it sort of blurry looking, like they're *dancing*. You can make the flames move in any elegant direction you wish.

5. For a better effect, take the burn tool, set on midtones, and lightly burn the bottom of the flames, not going up too far, or it'll look funny. You can do it that way if you want, but that sometimes means more smudging.

6. If necessary, dodge the flames a little more or burn them to get the desired colors.

7. If you want the flames to be in any way transparent/translucent, use the eraser tool on a soft setting (i use mine on 500, but i change the size of it back down under 100 pixels or so. Lightly skim across the flames, or in specific places, depending on how you want the flames to appear.
:bulletred:If there's an object in front or behind, erasing might be needed less or more, again, depending on the desired flame outcome.

8. If you want to create lighting of the flames, like if there's a person in the flames or whatever, paint along the natural shadows on the main subject, using low opacity when you paint.
:bulletred:If you want to make the lighting brighter or darker, dodge or burn certain parts.
:bulletred:Sometimes, what i do, is that i duplicate the layer, and then edit it from there. For something more realistic, smudge the light like you do the flames, and then completely erase any outside lighting that shouldn't be there.
