Why I chose that song, I'm not sure. It seemed fit for this piece, and Shinedown =
So, as I promised, my OC, Thirrin in the midst of battle. I think I should tell you a little about why she's in Gondorian uniform and not in Nardorian garb. Well, I was gonna write more of my fanfic, but no one really reads it, so I'll just tell y'all. Near the end of the fic, Thirrin rebels against Nardor, the country trying to take over the world because Gondor pissed them off (well, not really, but they were a contributing factor) and Thirrin takes the side of her home country, and fights against her husband (the evil leader of Nardor).
Just used a background I made for one of my old drawings 'cause I'm a lazy ass. And it had the Fire Nation-type soldiers I pictured for my own little fanfic world.
I do hope that you guys like it. I'm starting to work without black lineart, like the anime/AtLA style I used to to do, even though it's almost always with lineart. I do think it's messy and takes away from detail or whatevs. I'm just weird like that. lulz. And I really think I did a badass job on this for something I've never really tried my hand at before (which is straight-up painting, no guided lineart.) I was trying to make it as realistic as possible, but I know I didn't.
As always, a reference was used, for the pose anyways:[link] That MK vs DCU pic was freaking awesome, and I had no intentions of stealing it; I loved the pose Sonya was making, and the movement of the work itself is more awesome that my art is or will be. Please pay homage to it. 8D
I hope she looks girly enough. One of my friends looked at her and thought she was a transvestite!! D8
well, ok then. It's lord of the rings/atla crossover. the only avatar thing in the story is the element bending, the firelord/fire nation-type stuff, and the world domination thing going on. I'm about to reveal a spoiler for you, if that's good. Thirrin was born to an elven mother, which could also control the element of water, but couldn't. she only had the gene for it, I guess you can say. but anyways. when thirrin was born, a prophecy was decided about her, but was scrapped and forgotten about since no one believed it would ever happen, and it was almost impossible. part of that prophecy was that she would be "born from water and of fire" and people took that in the wrong context, thinking that no one could control more than one element. when thirrin was a young child, she discovered her waterbending and firebending talents, and so the prophecy started to fire back up again.
thanks. 8) well, when Thirrin was little, say around age 8, she finds that she can waterbend, only being able to bend fire before. after that, she shows her parents, and they knew about the prophecy. they kept it secret, but before too long, word goes around that Thirrin can bend 2 elements, with no one else being to ever do that. the prophecy also predicts that "the child born of water and of fire shall rightfully restore balance to the world through loving the enemy" Which means that Thirrin, the one who can bend fire and water, was wed to Ozai. Ozai becomes the leader of his nation, and tries to take over the world, but before the world is completely taken over, Thirrin stops Ozai, and takes over the throne, but gives the throne over to Ozai's older brother, who was too afraid of Ozai to rightfully take his throne. the war is then ended in peace.
Oooh, awesome She looks so determined, but sad too I love the lighting on the fire and how her hair looks, fantastic :d Aww,i was really enjoying your fanfic, wont there be any more?
Interesting style of outfit on her.
I'd explain, but I'd take forever tellin ya. D8
